Welcome to Day 1 – 5 Reasons You Should Start A Blog,
Have you ever given deep thought to why you wanted to start a blog ? For many of us it may just start out as a hobby and grow from there, for others it could be to start making a living online and to essentially leave the corporate job we all thought we loved so much !
I was introduced to blogging by a friend during my college years, soon after graduating I started my first blog in 2012 as a hobby for my personal interest, mobile app development. I’ve since left that and moved onto other ventures and finally I’m here.
To wrap that up there is no right or wrong answer to starting a blog, and there could be different reasons you start yours!
Quick Side Note: If you’re like me and can’t wait 7 days, why not start your blog today in less than 10 minutes, just head over here :
Below are 5 quick reasons to why you should start a blog.
To Be Heard
Blogging is an effective platform to create a following via your site with extensions to your social media accounts. From there you are able to influence people with your opinion and thoughts. Your following will listen to what you have to say, be inspired by the content you share and what you recommend. Your voice will never be unheard again as your thoughts and opinions are spread by your personal brand.
Improve Your Communication
If you ever thought your communication was not on point then this is a way to improve it. A lot of people struggle with trying to get their point across or share their views, but over time as your blog grows and develops – guess what ?! So will your communication !
Be Part of An Awesome Community
There is literally 100’000’s of thousands of blogs out there (if not, then more) ! There are also countless topics to orientate your blog around, once you have decided on your topic over time you will expand your network within that topic and become better known. At this point, people that stumble across your blog will view you as an authoritative figure that influences their decision. You will also make new friends with similar interests and hobbies to your own. Being able to network and connect with other people from all over the world is one of the biggest takeaways from blogging.
Before I was introduced to blogging I never thought about it, I mean I read blogs but the thought of creating my own was quite faint. Blogging can be very enjoyable as it gives us a way to express our feelings and meet new people that could lead to greater things.
To Build A Successful Business
I want you to know that no matter what topic you decide on, you need to treat your blog as a business if you want it to be successful. Over the years I’ve made money from my initial blog and other ventures, but each time I start something new I treat it as a business. Once your blog gains traction and you start earning regular monthly income think about how you can expand this income, what on-going expenses you need to account for (virtual assistants, blog writers etc). By keeping track of your financial accountability for your business you will soon become more successful and earn more.
That’s it for today’s lesson. Tomorrow I’ll be taking about Blog Ideas and Tips.
